About Noor

Originally from Bowie, MD, I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Bucknell University in 2010. From there I accepted a position as a research technician at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, where I spent 1.5 years honing my skills in molecular labwork and bioinformatic scripting. I also wrote for Endeavors, the UNC magazine of research and creative activity (see 'PUBS' for samples of my work).

In August 2017, I earned my PhD from a joint program between the Behavior, Ecology, Evolution and Systematics program at the University of Maryland in College Park, and the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of Natural History. I completed a 3-year National Science Foundation postdoctoral fellowship in 2020, and remained at the National Institute of Health's National Eye Institute as a postdoctoral fellow until January 2022.

In March of 2022, I joined the Biological Imaging Core of the National Eye Institute as a Staff Scientist.
