I am delighted to share that our most recent publication, "A Phylogenomic Supertree of Birds," was selected as the cover for the latest issue of Diversity. The image is of a Black Jacobin (Florisuga fusca), taken by co-author Daniel Field.
In this article, we used supertree methods to integrate available avian phylogenomic trees, generating a large-scale tree covering ~7% of bird species. Our methods are computationally efficient and will facilitate continual updates as more phylogenomic data accumulate. See my PUBS page for the paper.
